Every good relationship is built on trust, and we want to build a strong, long-term relationship with you.
This Privacy policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal information. The Spanish version is the one that applies; this English version is provided for convenience.
Who is responsible for your information
Grupo CauFi, S.A. de C.V., which operates dermaia.com.mx, with its address at Campos Eliseos 69, Int. 302, Col. Polanco V Sección, Alcaldía Miguel Hidalgo, C.P. 11560, Mexico City, is responsible for your personal information. For anything related to it, email us at contacto@dermaia.com.mx.
What we collect
We collect the information you give us when you use the site or at brand events:
- When you buy: your name, email, phone number and shipping address.
- If you request an invoice: your RFC, name or company name, tax postal code, tax regime, CFDI use and the email we send it to.
- If you create an account: your name, email, a password (stored encrypted) and, if you like, your phone number, your date of birth and your gender. If you sign in with your Google or Apple account, we receive your name and email from them.
- If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email.
- If you post a review or write to us: your name, your email and what you share with us.
We will never ask for your card details: payments are made through Stripe, a secure payment platform, and those details never reach us. We don't collect sensitive personal information.
How we use your information
We use your information for what's needed to provide the service you ask for:
- Processing, charging, shipping and following up on your orders, and letting you know their status.
- Issuing your invoices when you request them.
- Creating and managing your account.
- Answering your questions, exchanges, returns and complaints.
- Verifying your identity and preventing fraud.
- Publishing your reviews, if you send them.
- Telling you about important changes, such as changes to our terms or to this policy. Because this information matters to your relationship with DerMaia, you can't opt out of it.
- Meeting our legal and tax obligations.
And also for these purposes, which aren't needed to provide the service:
- Sending you our newsletter with news, promotions and discount codes.
- Sending you a gift code on your birthday, if you gave us your date of birth.
- Getting to know our customers better (for example, by age and gender) to offer you products and promotions you'll like.
- Understanding how the site is used, to improve our products, services and communications.
- Showing you DerMaia ads on Facebook and Instagram, if you accept all cookies.
- Running the giveaways, contests or promotions you take part in.
Your date of birth and gender are optional. If you don't want us to use your information for these last purposes, click the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or email us at contacto@dermaia.com.mx. Saying no doesn't affect your purchases.
Cookies and statistics
The site uses a session cookie so your cart, your account and checkout work; without it you can't buy.
We count visits to the site without cookies and without storing your IP address, so nobody can be identified or followed from one day to the next.
With your permission, we also use:
- Google Analytics, from Google, which uses cookies to measure how the site is used (the pages you visit, your type of device and your approximate location) and sends that information to Google.
- Meta Pixel, from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), which uses cookies to measure visits that come from its ads and to show you DerMaia ads on its platforms, and sends that information to Meta.
Neither loads until you choose "Accept all" in the cookie notice. You can change your choice at any time under "Cookie preferences", in the footer of every page. The details are in our Cookie policy.
You can also set your browser to warn you before accepting a cookie or to refuse cookies; if you refuse the session cookie, you won't be able to buy.
Our newsletters include links and an image that tell us whether they were opened and what interested you, so we can improve our messages and avoid sending too many.
Who we share your information with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with the providers that help us serve you, who must protect it and use it only for that:
- Stripe, to process your payments.
- Delivery companies, to deliver your orders.
- Brevo, to send our newsletter and some emails.
- Microsoft, for our email.
- Google, for Google Analytics and for signing in with your Google account; Apple, for signing in with your Apple account.
- Meta, for Meta Pixel.
- The provider that hosts the site and its backups.
Some of these providers may store your information outside Mexico.
We may also give your information to the authorities when a law or legal process requires it, or when it's needed to enforce our terms and conditions or protect our operations or our users. In a reorganization, merger or sale of the company, we may transfer your information to the party concerned.
Your rights
You have the right to know what information we hold about you and how we use it (access), to ask us to correct it if it's wrong or incomplete (rectification), to have it deleted when it's no longer needed (cancellation) and to object to its use for certain purposes (opposition). You can also withdraw the consent you gave us.
To do so, email us at contacto@dermaia.com.mx with your name, a document proving your identity (or that of whoever represents you), which information and which right you want to exercise, and an email address for our reply. We'll respond within 20 business days at most.
To stop receiving the newsletter, you can also click the unsubscribe link in any of them.
If you'd like to close your account, email us at the same address. Some information, such as that of your purchases and invoices, we keep for as long as the law requires.
Minors
Our site isn't aimed at minors: only people over 18 may buy. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13; if we find we did without knowing, we'll delete it. If you think we hold information about a child under 13, email us at contacto@dermaia.com.mx.
If you're under 18 and posted a review or other content, you can ask us to delete it by writing to us with the date and title of the post. We'll handle your request within 30 days.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information while your account is active or while it's needed for the purposes described here, to meet our legal and tax obligations and to resolve disputes. After that we delete it. Copies may remain in our backups until they're replaced.
We don't control the privacy settings of social networks such as Facebook, Instagram or TikTok; to change them, go to each network's settings.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information against loss, unauthorized use, disclosure or destruction: the site only works over an encrypted connection (https), passwords are stored encrypted and access to the information is limited. We ask the providers we share it with to do the same. Even so, no transmission or storage of information over the internet is 100% secure.
Links to other sites
Our site may contain links to third-party sites we don't own or operate. We're not responsible for those sites or their content; sharing information with them is your choice.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of Mexico. If you live in another country, by giving us your information you agree that it will be processed in Mexico under these laws.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page, and when we make an important change we'll also let you know on the site or by email.
