Bags and dark circles under your eyes?

— DerMaia

I don't know about you, but I personally hate them. They make me feel insecure, my eyes look sad and lifeless, and there are many factors that cause them to appear:

Tiredness

Lack of sleep

Allergies

Illness

Sun exposure

Aging

And even genetics

We're living through times of great change that have been hard for everyone, and right now is exactly when we need to return to our roots, make the worldview of the ancient Indigenous peoples our own and start living in harmony and balance. That applies to every part of our lives: living in balance with nature, with our bodies and with the people around us.

That's why, to say goodbye to the bags and dark circles we feel take away from our looks, we need to start bringing balance to our lifestyle. How? It's very easy:

Let's hydrate our bodies.

I know we're not big fans of drinking water, but if we understand how valuable it is for our physical well-being, we'll surely be willing to make a small sacrifice. Drink 2 liters of water. You'll see that if you sip it throughout the day it won't feel like a chore, and little by little you'll get used to it. Drinking enough water keeps our body from getting dehydrated, and that helps hydrate our eyes.

Remember that when we don't drink water, our body decides to build its own reserves, which makes it retain water. That can cause puffiness around our eyes and those annoying bags.

Let's get enough sleep

Sleep is one of life's great pleasures, so why do we resist it? Work, going out, the kids: it all matters, but remember… balance is the key… let's get organized so we can get everything done and still have time to rest for at least 8 hours.

When we don't sleep, our skin looks pale, which makes dark circles and bags more noticeable,

and we also affect our blood circulation, which makes blood pool and this very delicate area of our face swell even more.

It's important to sleep with your head raised to prevent fluid from building up and the bags under your eyes from swelling.

Let's remove our makeup and wash our face

It may be the most tiresome routine of the day. We're tired and all we want is to forget about everything and go to sleep, but skipping it lets toxins build up on your skin, which damages it and can lead to premature aging.

I recommend removing your makeup, washing your face and using 100% natural DerMaia products to protect it.

DerMaia Eye Contour Gel is a great option. It's made with completely natural ingredients like Melipona honey, arnica, calendula, green tea and cucumber, all with de-puffing, regenerating and hydrating properties that will help fade under-eye bags and dark circles.

Let's use products that support natural collagen production

Collagen is a protein found in our body that decreases over time, which leads to dark circles, bags, wrinkles and expression lines.

Besides hydrating, de-puffing and regenerating the skin, Melipona honey helps support natural collagen production.

Let's eat natural fruits and vegetables and avoid salt

Sound cliché? Sure, but that doesn't make it any less important. Keeping a balanced diet helps hydrate our body and prevent fluid retention. Don't forget to include iron-rich foods in your diet, like meat, beans and green vegetables, since they help oxygenate the blood and keep bags from appearing.

Let's drink less alcohol

Sadly, alcohol encourages fluid retention and makes it harder for our body to get rid of sodium, so it's important to keep an eye on how much we drink for the sake of beautiful eyes and skin.

Cigarettes? Don't even get me started. They're one of the worst enemies of our beauty, not to mention our health.

Let's take care of our skin

Using moisturizers rich in antioxidants and vitamin C prevents premature deterioration and helps regenerate, strengthen and eliminate the fat stored in this very delicate area, giving your skin a very healthy look.

Melipona honey is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C.

DerMaia Eye Contour Gel, refreshing and de-puffing, blends:
